FIRST TIME VISITOR

PARKING
ADA-compliant parking is located directly behind the sanctuary, with access to the ramp leading to the front door. The only ADA-compliant restroom is located in North Hall. Enter through the glass doors of North Hall and take the elevator to the L level.
The parking lot of St. Stephen’s is for the church’s use and their designees unless otherwise indicated.
WORSHIP
Our 10 am service on Sunday lasts approximately 70 minutes. Greeters and Ushers will welcome you upon arrival and answer any logistical questions. For those familiar with Roman Catholic worship, the words will sound familiar, with Holy Communion (the Eucharist) as part of every Sunday service. For those from another Protestant denomination, the hymns, choir, and preaching style will sound familiar. For those raised within other religious traditions, you may feel comfortable due to the ritual throughout worship. Check out the What We Believe page for more information on the similarities and differences between the Episcopal Church and other Christian denominations and religions.
WHAT TO WEAR
People wear a variety of styles to church, with most wearing something that makes them feel like they look nice. Kids wear whatever their parents determined was worth the discussion, with some coming in their uniform for the sports event which follows.
WELCOMING & AFFIRMING
The Episcopal Church has been among the leading Christian denominations in welcoming Queer community members as full participants in our common life, including ordained and lay leadership. To learn more go to the What We Believe page.
NEWSLETTER
Every Thursday, we send out an e-newsletter with the happenings of our common life.
NURSERY & STORYTIME
Regularly bringing your children to church is a beautiful way to support their faith formation journey. Families start worship, sitting together in the pews, sharing the music, prayerful environment, attractive structure, familiar faces, etc. Then, during the Hymn of Praise, children from about three through about 11 may follow our Storytime Leader out and down to our children’s chapel.
We are so glad to offer nursery care for the “youngest among us” at St. Stephen’s Church. St. Stephen’s has a newly furnished nursery room located in North Hall. Our nursery is open from 9:40 a.m. to about 11:30 a.m. each Sunday.
