Celebrating 300 Years: 1725-2025

We can’t believe how long we’ve been in Ridgefield at 353 Main Street!  Let’s Celebrate!

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is alive and well. We invite you to join us in celebrating our heritage and the ways in which we seek to make a difference in the world. We have events all year long, and you’re invited!

Here are a few dates we’ve already placed on our calendar:
  • April 27, 2025- Storytelling and dinner event
  • Spring 2025- St. Stephen’s Cookbook
  • September 27-28, 2025- Homecoming Weekend
  • Purchase your tickets for the Homecoming Gala here

St. Stephen’s church is the Episcopal Church’s outpost in Ridgefield, CT. Since 1725, the Episcopal Church of St. Stephen’s has been on this same plot of land.  This, our fourth sanctuary, is already 100+ years old.  A lot has changed over these years, but one thing remains constant: We are part of a worldwide network of churches that take seriously that we are human and that living into our humanity requires us to consider how our faith responds to the needs of our world.  Thus, throughout history, we’ve been among the first to step forward to wrestle with the social challenges, wherever we may be.  With the Word of God (scripture), the witness of the faithful before us (tradition), and the movement of the Holy Spirit in our own lives (reason), we continue to discover the Living God among us.

Stories of Hope, Dreams and Possibility

Storytelling on St. Stephen's 300th anniversary co-hosted with the Ridgefield Theater Barn

You will hear personal stories perhaps about growing up too fast; when the scale told you a surprising truth; a shattered dream or starting again from zero; what makes your heart skip a beat; when a possibility bloomed into more than you expected or significant life milestones.

The event will take place at the Ridgefield Theater Barn on Sunday, April 27th at 5 pm for BYO dinner with storytelling beginning at 6pm followed by catered dessert by a' Table and conversation with the tellers and the community.

Due to high demand, we’ve opened up a second watch site for the Storytelling event.  For $15 (plus fees) you can join others at 6pm in the Black Box at the Ridgefield Theatre Barn to watch the stories on close-circuit television in real time.  This ticket includes participation in the after party at the site with desserts provided by A’ Table.  We hope that you’ll bring a friend to see a friend in this unique, unrepeatable live performance.
